As a company, it is part of culture here at Greenmill to support the community and so we were very happy to offer support when Adcock Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, a quality longstanding customer, asked for donations as a sponsorship for their participation in the 2017 Chariots of Fire run. Adcock had a target of £800 which has been almost doubled as they currently run at 174% of their target!
Chariots of Fire is one of Cambridgeshire’s largest annual charity events in which teams of six each run a 1.6 mile course in relay format. Our donation and all other funds raised through the 2017 Chariots of Fire run will go to Alzheimer’s Research UK and will support a vital project at the University of Cambridge exploring why people with Down’s Syndrome develop Alzheimer’s. Last year Alzheimer’s overtook heart disease as the leading cause of death in England and Wales and there are 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK today, a number forecast to hit one million in the next decade.
