The nation has spoken! After weeks of tireless campaigning by every candidate, with all the votes counted and independently verified, the results of the The Great Greenmill Chocolate Referendum are finally revealed......
Massive congratulations to Devon and Galaxy Ripple, who defied the odds, and the pundits, to come out on top in The Great Greenmill Chocolate Referendum.
Not only did Devon win the popular vote, he also won by a majority, with more than half of all voters choosing Galaxy Ripple as one of their favourite chocolate bars. Acknowledging his massive win, Devon said:
"Workers of Britain! You have made a clear choice. The right choice. I accept the mandate you've given me, and promise to make Greenmill chocolate great again."
Early leader and the bookies favourite, Donny was one of the first to congratulate his opponent:
"I think a lot of us more established candidates underestimated Devon because of his youth. The results show that Dairy Milk is still hugely popular, and rightly so. But it appears people want change and Devon's Galaxy Ripple offers something different."
Many candidates were obviously disappointed at their poor showing in the referendum. However, Matt, John, Simon and even Donny shouldn't be too despondent. They've been voted as one of the nation's Top 5 chocolate bars, which means Crunchie, KitKat Chunky, Wispa and Dairy Milk will feature alongside Galaxy Ripple in Winner's Week.
